A rotating nominations committee consisting of accomplished artists, activists, non-profit leaders, and academics submit candidates for Sea Change Residencies to Gaea Foundation staff. Additionally, former Sea Change Residents are asked to submit two nominations following their residency. From this pool of nominees, in concert with an outside advisory committee, Gaea staff makes final selections, which are submitted to the Gaea Foundation Board for approval.
Sea Change Residencies Staff operates in partnership with the Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC) of Provincetown, a historic writers’ and artists’ community founded in 1969 that has since been at the heart of Provincetown’s cultural life.
When possible, FAWC staff assists and invites Sea Change Residents to attend events from their summer calendar.
Sea Change Residencies does not accept applications for residencies.
